Meet Nebraska Quilter:
Becky Wallroff
Becky lives in the country outside of Seward, NE, with her husband and 2 teenage sons. She's been a quilter
for 25 years, and grew up playing under her Mom's quilt frame. Becky's technical training background, and
love of quilting, combine to make classes fun and rewarding.
Becky's programs & workshops:
Capturing Family Memories in Quilts - Guild Program (lecture with trunk show) What do we hold dearest, in
our hearts...memories of our family. Why not capture them in our favorite medium...quilts! Get ideas for all
types of "scrapbook" or memory" quilts using many techniques including "photos to fabric", using clothing and
accessories, and yes, the teen favorite...t-shirts. You'll even get some tips on tracing your family tree.
Hand-Dyeing for the Impatient Quilter - Guild Program (lecture, trunk show & demonstration) Can't find that
special fabric or color you need...dye it yourself! Hand-dyeing is so rewarding. Every time you open the fabric
to rinse it, it's like a surprise gift. We'll discuss the different dye processes and focus on the easiest, fastest
and least expensive!
Scrapbag Quilts - Guild Program (lecture with trunk show) Reduce, Reuse and Recycle...Is your scrapbag or
stash overflowing? Do you have pretty, cotton shirts you don't wear anymore, or from the estate of a loved
one? DON'T THROW IT AWAY!!! Learn how you can use all of that fabric to make beautiful quilts.
Scrapbook Memory Quilt - Workshop - Bring photos (either pre-printed on fabric yourself, or email to me and
I'll have them printed for you, in time for class), clothing, accessories and anything else that reminds you of
your theme. We'll get creative and learn to put it all together into a Scrapbook Memory Quilt.
Fast, Inexpensive Hand-Dyeing - Workshop - Learn to turn plain, white cotton pieces into dyed, hand-painted
and batik beauties..quickly and inexpensively. You'll even find out the secret of a faux batik technique I've
discovered!
Reduce, Reuse & Recycle - Workshop - Learn three EASY scrap patterns to use up your stash, empty your
scrapbag, and thin out your closet.
Shadow Quilting - Workshop - Learn easy techniques to add shadows to your quilts, to give them a
three-dimensional look.
Easy Machine-Pieced Circles - Workshop - No fusibles or applique required...you'll be learning a simple
technique to machine piece circles into your projects.
